Family Work          Parent Groups          Emergency Relief                Training

Parent Groups July- Septemebr 2010

Training

Through our Family Work programs family workers meet with families in their homes or at ‘the Cottage’ to work together on the  issues facing the family. Family workers can also provide information about community or government resources that may assist families and can advocate for clients with government and non government businesses. Families NSW Family Workers provide extra support for parents of children 0-5 and pregnant women. Jigsaw provides a counselling service for children 5-12 years.

 Family Work- Lapstone to Woodford

  • Family support and counselling for families with dependent children. Workers visit families in their homes (or at the service) & provide counselling and support in times of stress or crisis
  • Families with children under 5- family workers can visit pregnant women or families with children under 5 to provide support around a range of parenting concerns
  • Jigsaw- Counselling for children 5-12 years.

Through our Parent Groups families can learn more about parenting and relationships and  gain support and encouragement from both workers and group participants. ________________________________________________________________________________________

Through our Emergency Relief programs families can be assisted with food and/or financial assistance and Christmas Hampers.                   

Eligibility:    Food & Food Vouchers- priority to residents of BM LGA (Tues, Thurs & Friday)
$   Financial assistance- only available to residents of BM LGA (By appointment

 


Through our Training Programs we provide support and information to Children's services which enable them to support vulnerable families.

" It takes a village. ." project which is funded by FAHCSIA provides support to a range of childrens services.

This project has developed training resources which assist  these services to identify and support vulnerable families and link them to other community services.

Noticing Change in Children training is provided across the Blue Mountain and Penrith.
