The Family Links Project is funded by the Commonwealth Dept. of Families, Housing & Community Services and Indigenous Affairs
Family Work programs family workers meet with families in their homes or at ‘the Cottage’ to work together on the issues facing the family.
- Family workers can also provide information about community or government resources that may assist families and can advocate for clients with government and non government businesses.
- Families NSW Family Workers provide extra support for parents of children 0-5 and pregnant women. Kingswood- Woodford
- Jigsaw provides a counselling service for children 5-12 years with fees subsidies for low income families.BLue Mountains LGA
- Brighter Futures workers support families with children under 8 years of age who are experiencing problems associated with domestic violence, being a young parent, mental and emotional health concerns and concerns about severe childhood behaviours. Support includes a family worker to work alongside the family to achieve their goal, support for children to participate in quality early childhood learning parent supprot groups and limited financial assistance. - Food- available once each month. Non perishable items, fruit and vegies; bread
- Food Vouchers- available once every 2nd month for purchase of food at Blaxland IGA
- $ Financial Assistance- up to $150 pa for a family with dependant children; $120 couples; $75 for singles. By Appointment only Friday mornings
- Advocacy- family workers will assist families to obtain payment extensions or make representations for consumers around debt.
Eligibility: Food & Food Vouchers- priority to residents of BM LGA (Tues, Thurs & Friday)
$ Financial assistance- only available to residents of BM LGA (By appointment)
